You will undoubtedly discover a notebook at the end of this list that meets all of your tastes and requirements for drawing, writing, and coloring with markers.
1. Canson 702-192
Canson has been manufacturing paper for about a thousand years. One of the greatest sketchbooks for traveling is this spiral-bound notebook.
Perforated sheets of 65-pound (approximately 244gsm) paper are included with this sketchbook. The 100 sheets of paper each measure 9 by 12 inches and contain 30% post-consumer content.
One of the best sketchbooks now on the market, this book is adored for its premium material.
This sketchbook is for you if you want a well-known brand that is portable and performs well with markers.
This sketchbook’s size makes it ideal for sketching while traveling. Most backpacks and handbags can accommodate it with ease. You can share your work with others or remove any pages that you aren’t satisfied with using the perforated pages.
The type of marker you use will determine how much the paper will bleed. To avoid any bleeding, make sure to run a marker test or place a piece of copy paper between the pages.
2. Leda Art Supply 4336941744
This elegantly simple sketchbook will safeguard your artwork. 160 pages of 130gsm paper make up the book. The notebook is little smaller than a half sheet of copy paper in size, and the flexible cover will keep the pages weatherproof.
Many people adore this sketchbook because of its smooth writing surface, which makes it ideal for using markers without the page feathering.
To safeguard your doodles while traveling, the faux leather cover offers all-weather protection. The high-quality paper and straightforward design of this notepad make it a wonderful present for any creative member of your family.
You might only be able to draw, sketch, or paint on one side of the paper because the paper is thinner than other sketchbook pages and your work might bleed through or damage the sheets.
3. Art-n-Fly 4336941995
Another top-bound notebook that works well with markers is the Art-n-Fly sketchpad. Each book has 100 sheets of quality 70-pound paper that are durable enough for use with markers without feathering or bleeding.
Most people agree that this sketchbook provides quality paper and binding at an affordable price. They say the pages are tough enough for markers and gentle sufficient for light pencil work as well.
If you are looking for a sketchpad with larger sheets to practice your marker sketches on, this notebook is a great deal for the price.
The spiral bind of this book allows it to open flat on any surface for ease of sketching. Each sheet of paper is 9 x 12-inches which is just bigger than copy paper for a professional look.
While this paper does work fine with markers, it is meant more for dry media like graphite or pastels.
Though I haven’t purchased many sketchbooks, I’ve just opened one of these big sketchbooks, and it’s a quality item. Although storing it in my backpack puts a lot of strain on the pages and ring binding, they hold up well. I really enjoy it. I feel like it’s a decent value and the book itself is fairly fantastic for the price. I have other prettier sketchbooks, but they are much more expensive.
4. Crescent 12-00011C
The RENDR Hardbound book from Crescent Creative Products is one of the more awesome sketchbooks for markers.
For those who like to use markers, this 8.5 x 11-inch hardcover notebook has 180gsm acid-free paper with “Render no-show genuine technology.” It is a durable product that fulfills its guarantees.
Many people adore this book for using a variety of media. The paper won’t bleed through to the opposite side whether you wish to sketch with a pencil or a thick permanent marker.
The RENDR is a fantastic sketchbook that delivers on its promises, and it will make a great addition to your collection. Even with the darkest colors, the bleed-proof paper stays up to its reputation. The sturdy thick pages and hardbound cover can survive the roughest transportation without tearing.
Although more expensive, this book is a good investment.
Fantastic sketchbook. I’ve been utilizing it with Arteza Everblend markers and I’m really enjoying it so far. The colors definitely differ significantly from those on the glossy paper that I often use for these markers, but I so far like this paper. It obviously doesn’t lie flat, just as in the other reviews, but I’ve been using clamp clips to fix it so it’s not a big deal. When using the center of the book, but not the beginning, assume it will rest flat. Overall, a great fine sketchbook with no bleed through was used.
5. Strathmore STR-566-8
When using markers or other wet mediums, Strathmore sketchbooks are renowned for not bleeding through. This full-sized hardcover notebook has 90-pound acid-free paper, which prevents even the darkest colors from bleeding through. Many people adore this book for its dependability and quality, and many first-time buyers have turned into lifelong customers as a result of using this notebook.
For the price, this sketchbook only comes with 32 sheets per book.
This book has every feature you could ask for in a sketchbook, including sturdy paper. However this is quite an investment because the cost for what you are getting is more than others.
This book’s thick pages are ideal for mixed-media projects and stand up well to marker use.
This book does not lay flat when you draw because of the binding.
This sketchbook is something I keep purchasing. It is excellent for collage as well as wet media like watercolor. It’s possibly the best huge watercolor journal I’ve come across. It is very strong and may be used outside because it doesn’t require any additional support. I firmly advise it.
